About Rep. Drew Stokesbary

Rep. Drew Stokesbary, who became House Republican Leader in April 2023, is serving his fifth term representing the 31st Legislative District.

After graduating from a local public high school, Drew earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and mathematics from Duke University. He went on to Notre Dame Law School, where he graduated cum laude.

Outside the Legislature, Drew is a partner at the boutique law firm Chalmers & Adams, where he provides legal counsel to startups and emerging companies throughout the Puget Sound area and around the world. He is admitted to the bars of Washington and Arkansas, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. Drew also serves on the Board of the Auburn Valley YMCA.

Drew is a lifelong Washingtonian and resides with his family in Auburn. He and his wife Ashley have three sons, Jackson, Eli and Walker, and a border collie named Scout. They enjoy hiking in the Cascades and cooking dinner together at home.

Legislative Priorities:

  • Reducing taxes and irresponsible budget growth, and holding state agencies accountable for waste and fraud;
  • Encouraging job creation and economic growth across the Puget Sound area and Washington state through common-sense tax and regulatory reform;
  • Protecting our communities from crime and drug use, including prohibiting drug injection sites; and
  • Fully funding K-12 education in accordance with the state constitution and ensuring college is affordable and accessible for all Washingtonians.
