Republican leaders share halftime report of session following cutoff

Following Tuesday’s house of origin cutoff, Republican leaders provided an update just past the midpoint of the 60-day legislative session.

House Republican Leader Drew Stokesbary said Republicans were pleased that a number of bad bills died, but expressed frustration that bills advocating rent control, a natural gas ban and unemployment insurance for striking workers were passed by House Democrats.

Joining Stokesbary to speak with the media were Rep. Peter Abbarno, Senate Republican Leader John Braun, and Sen. Chris Gildon.
