Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Last month, lawmakers convened in Olympia for Committee Assembly days. During these two days, committees met to discuss critical issues facing our state as well as policy ideas for the upcoming legislative session.

As the lead Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, which considers our state operating budget, I'm intently focused on protecting Washington taxpayers from unnecessary taxation and wasteful spending. To that end, I'll be proposing a bill next session to reenact the 35-year-old ban on cities taxing net income, which was ruled void by the state Court of Appeals this summer.
