About Rep. Drew Stokesbary
Education and Public Service: After graduating from a local public high school, Drew earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, studying economics and mathematics. He went on to Notre Dame Law School where he graduated cum laude with a J.D. and was admitted to the Washington State Bar.
Professional Experience and Community Involvement: Drew is the founder and managing attorney of Stokesbary PLLC, a boutique business law firm based in Sumner that provides legal counsel to startups and emerging companies throughout the Puget Sound and across the world. Additionally, Drew serves on the Auburn Valley YMCA Board and Civil Legal Aid Oversight Committee.
Personal: Drew is a native Washingtonian and resides with his family in Auburn. He and his wife Ashley have two sons, Jackson (3) and Eli (1), and a Golden Retriever named Charleston. They enjoy hiking in the Cascades and cooking dinner together at home.
House Committees and Leadership: Drew is a member of House Republican Leadership, serving as Assistant Minority Floor Leader. He is also the Assistant Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee, as well as a member of the Education and Finance Committees.
He has been appointed to the Joint Select Committee on Article IX Litigation, Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee, Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Trade Policy, and Legislative Evaluation and Accountability Program Committee.
- Encouraging job creation and economic growth across the Puget Sound and Washington state through common-sense tax and regulatory reform;
- Protecting our communities from crime and drug use, including prohibiting drug injection sites;
- Reducing traffic congestion and holding Sound Transit and the Department of Transportation accountable for the responsible investment of public tax dollars; and
- Fully-funding K-12 education in accordance with the state constitution and ensuring college is affordable and accessible for all Washingtonians.
